Original black cloth, panelled and lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, other untrimmed, marbled endpapers, preserved in the original black card slipcase; pp. vi + [iv] + 43 + [v], printed on mould-made paper; with title-page printed in black and gilt and 15 fine black-and-white plates by Jones, together with other decorations in monochrome; a near fine copy with the bookplate Giles Alexander Esme Gordon to inner upper cover, in a fine slipcase.
First edition illustrated thus; one of only 750 numbered copies, set in Caslon type, signed by Harold Jones, of which 30 were produced as "Specials" and bound in full leather.
