The Hotel was constructed in the 1850's and built in the Grand Colonial style. Laurie's was the equivalent of the Imperial Hotel in Delhi. At the turn of the Century Laurie's played host to Royalty and heads of State.
From the Hotel the Taj Mahal was easily accessible.
